CARR SIDE LAKES

Regrettably the arrangement that RADAC has with the owner of these lakes will not be renewed in 2010. This means that members may continue to fish there until 30th April only. The owner has decided that he wishes to let the fishing on an "exclusive access" which the Committee has considered but decided not to pursue.

A RIVER FIT FOR A QUEEN”

This year’s Hodder Consultative Falkus Memorial Evening will be the premier of this film, three years in the making, by the Video Camera Club of Clitheroe. Peter Guy and the members of the Hodder Consultative.

The event will take place on Thursday April 15th 2010 from 7.30pm; it will take place at the BAE Systems Canberra Club Samlesbury Aerodrome.

This film, made to professional standards, is a must see for every angler, and naturalist who fishes and walks the lovely River Hodder. DVD copies of the film will be available on the night at £3 each.

The evening will again be supported by tackle stands, local fly tyers, along with a very generous raffle and auction.

ANGLING TRUST

The Club supports the Angling Trust and would like to encourage members to do so on a personal basis.

The Angling Trust is the new, single organisation to represent all game, coarse and sea anglers and angling in England. They lobby government, campaign on environmental and angling issues and run national and international competitions. They fight pollution, commercial over-fishing at sea, over-abstraction, poaching, unlawful navigation, local bans and a host of other threats to angling.

The Trust has been active in a number of high profile cases both locally such as the case of Entrepose and the damage to the salmon redds and nationally such as the water companies continued pumping of untreated waste into the waterways.

Individual membership is £20 per annum so not a lot to preserve our sport. Details can be found here
