RIBCHESTER STRETCH - CAR PARKING

May we remind members fishing the Ribchester stretch that there is a parking restriction at the Boat House (the downstream parking). On Wednesday mornings the refuse collection truck must be able to turn around and this requires space in the RADAC parking area. A recent incident had the bin men threatening not to collect the bins because a member had parked in the wrong place. Signs will shortly be displayed giving guidance but in the mean time please park to one side of the space on Wednesday mornings.

COARSE FISHING MATCH,  BOOT FARM, Sunday 4th July 2010

Due to the abnormally low river levels this event has been cancelled. A new date will be advertised in due course.

RADAC SEA FISHING TRIP

With the aim of providing members with a diverse range of fishing opportunities the Committee has arranged a group booking for some sea fishing off the coast of Rhyl.

The trip will take place on Saturday 25th September departing Rhyl at 10:05. The trip will last for five hours.

We have booked the whole boat therefore 10 places are available; these will be allocated in a strict first come first served basis. Anyone wishing to come on the trip should contact Matthew Nightingale on 07801 717641 (not by e-mail please). Please provide a telephone number (preferably mobile) for use in case of weather cancellation etc. Members have priority over guests.

The cost is £21 per head which should be paid on the boat (any no-shows still pay, any no-pays have amount added to RADAC renewal fee!). Tackle hire is available for a charge of £5. Bait is provided but members may bring their own.

The trip is general as opposed to targeting any particular species. Advice with respect to rigs, tackle etc. can be provided on request or can be found
here.

Hot drinks are available but not food; bring your own if you wish.

If this trip proves popular with members it will be our intention to make this a regular feature of the RADAC calendar.

PROPOSED MEMBERS ONLY TROUT FISHING MATCH AT BARNSFOLD RESERVOIRS

Frank Casson, owner of Barnsfold Fishery, has kindly set aside Sunday  5th September 2010 for this match.
So that we can determine the format and cost of the event we need to know how many members are interested in taking part. Please register your interest with the Waters Secretary, Fred Hall, preferably by
email

Alternatively telephone Fred on 01253 730991 or 07880 696492 (mobile).  Registering an interest is not a firm commitment at this stage.

PS Don't forget the coarse fishing match on the Ribble, Boot Farm stretch, scheduled for Sunday 4th July. Again please contact Fred for details.

BARNSFOLD NETTING

A working party spent a Saturday morning in April removing the large numbers of fry that had become a nuisance at the coarse pond at Barnsfold. Two passes of a net managed to capture at least two dustbins full of fry which have been transferred into the larger reservoirs at Barnsfold. Hopefully this will improve the fishing in the coarse pond.
