Moreton Hall Farm

Type: River Calder, one and a half kilometers of single bank fishing. Map: Link Availability: All members. Disabled Access: Access down to the river from the farm is steep and may be difficult for those with mobility problems. Species: Game and coarse. Grid Reference of Main Access Point: SD 745347 Grid Reference of Upstream Limit: SD 745340 Grid Reference of Downstream Limit: SD 741351 Car Parking:  There is a car park at the end of the access road to the water. General Description: Single bank river fishing. The Club has the water on the other bank although the two lengths are not continuous. The Club also has thPortfield Bar water which extends downstream of this one. Access Arrangements: Access is from the A680 Accrington Road shortly after its junction with the A671 Burnley Road (traveling South). The road to the Farm is identified by a gate house on the main road. When you come to a small white bungalow take the left fork into the farm complex and proceed around the buildings. Cross in front of a storage pond and proceed down to the car park. Access is only to be made via the farm and not at either end of the water. Restrictions - horses: The riparian owner allows riders to use a path along the river bank. Members should be alert to their presence and avoid leaving tackle where it may obstruct riders.
